Anita Faye (Whiteley) Stewart

Anita Faye (Whiteley) Stewart, age 88 of Crawfordsville passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Golden Living in Indianapolis.  She was born in Speedway on January 30, 1930 to the late Benjamin & Mary (Heckathorne) Whiteley.

Anita attended Russellville Schools and on June 12, 1948 she married Wilbert E. Stewart who preceded her in death in 1983.  Throughout the years she worked at Ingress Plastene, RR Donnelley, and worked in the kitchen at Ben Hur Nursing Home for 11 years.  She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, collecting dolls, and loved completing her word searches and puzzle books.

She is survived by a son, Dennis (Brenda) Stewart of Switz City, IN; five brothers, John (Jane) Whiteley, Edgar (Carolyn) Whiteley, Jay (Susan) Whiteley all of Crawfordsville, Frank (Lavena) Whiteley of Yukon, OK, and Lew David Whiteley of Linden; one sister, Marilyn Norton of Crawfordsville; three grandchildren, Jason (April) Stewart, Miriah (Jason) Mershon, both of Crawfordsville, and Alissa (Tony) Nicoson of Ladoga; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilbert; an infant sister; and two nieces, Jennifer Kirts and Darla Whiteley.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington Street in Crawfordsville on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 11:00am till the time of the funeral at 1:00pm with Jason Stewart officiating.  Burial will follow at Jamestown I.O.O.F Cemetery.  Share memories and condolences online at www.sandersfuneralcare.com
