Anna M. (Deck) Thompson

Anna M. (Deck) Thompson, age 92 of Crawfordsville passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Franciscan Health East in Lafayette.  She was born in Crawfordsville on November 22, 1926 to the late Marion Albert & Hallie Francis (Turner) Deck.

Anna attended Crawfordsville Schools and on November 22, 1942 she married the love of her life, Max Eugene Thompson, who preceded her in death on December 17, 2010.  Anna was a homemaker and worked in sales at Montgomery Wards in Crawfordsville for 23 years.  She was a member of Browns Valley Christian Church.  She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, gardening, canning, cooking, baking, and working in her garden.  She was a terrific cook and loved cooking for family gatherings and did embroidery work for the whole family.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Thompson of Crawfordsville and Steve (Arden) Thompson of New Ross; a daughter, Sue (Jeff) Black of Darlington; four brothers, Ed (Wilma) Deck of Washington, Robert Deck and Fred (Jeanie) Deck, both of Crawfordsville, and Jack (Betty) Deck of Waynetown; a sister, Madonna (William) Frazier of Washington; eight grandchildren, Glenn (Connie) Thompson, Shawn (Nicole) Thompson, Laura (Roger) Adams, Regina King, Devona Blanton, Steve Thompson Jr, Amanda (Jericho) Wright, and Paul Bryant; 11 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Max; a son, Danny Thompson; two granddaughters, Lindsay Thompson and Malissa Thompson; a grandson, Jeremy Thompson; four brothers, Alfred, Doin, James and Charles Deck; and two sisters, Latricha Dowell and Joyce Day.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington St in Crawfordsville on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 4:00PM till the time of the memorial service at 5:00PM with Pastor Vernon Dowell officiating.
