Ronald E. Byerly

Ronald Eugene Byerly, age 81 of Crawfordsville and formerly of Kingman passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, November 12, 2018.  He was born in Tangier, Indiana on April 6, 1937 to the late Russell Herbert & Irma Maxine (Towel) Byerly.

Ron graduated from Calumet Township High School in Griffin, IN in 1955.  He married Louetta Mae “Tootie” Byerly, who preceded him in death on April 25, 2008.  He remarried Wilma Sue (Morrow) Byerly, who survives.  Throughout the years Ron was a police officer in Tucson, Arizona and retired as a homicide detective.  In 1966 he bought a farm in Kingman and farmed for 25 years while also working as an iron worker at many different places throughout the United States.  In 1985 he stopped farming and sold insurance for Banker’s Life & Casualty Insurance Company.  He was a member of Grace & Mercy Ministries in Crawfordsville, Masonic Lodge 314 and the Lions Club.  Ron loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Sue Byerly; a son, Clayton (Bobbie Sue) Byerly; two daughters, Roni Jane Replogle and Cindi Anne (Jerry) Burton; bonus children, Vickie (Kevin) Strickler, John (Joanna) Allen and Chip Williams; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Tootie; brother, Conrad R.H. Byerly; and son-in-law, John Replogle.

Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street in Kingman from 5 – 8 pm on Friday, November 16, 2018 with Masonic Services at 7:30pm.  The funeral will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Nathan Miller officiating.  Burial will follow at Kingman Fraternal Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Food Pantry at Grace & Mercy Ministries, PO Box 189, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.  Share memories and condolences online at www.sandersfuneralcare.com
