Brenda Marlene (Garfield Bogart) Henderson of Kingman, Indiana, passed away in her home on the morning of Monday, August 10, 2026, after a long battle with cancer. Brenda was born in Danville, Illinois, on September 15, 1950, to Ernestine Hutson and Jack M. Garfield.
Brenda and her family traveled often when she was a child due to her father being in the military. She went on to graduate from Covington High School in 1968 and later attended Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. As an adult, she went on to become an amazing artist and an activities director for many different nursing homes. She was loving Christian woman that had a strong relationship with God. She was also an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Brenda spent 40 loving years married to her first love, William (Bill) R. Bogart Jr. During that time, they had two children, Tracy and James. After Bill's death in 2011, she spent a few years alone before meeting her second love, Owen Henderson. They met in 2015 and were married soon after in 2016. Brenda spent her remaining 10 years with Owen.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Owen; her children, Tracy (Tony) Hooley and James (Brittany) Bogart; her stepchildren, OJ Henderson and Owen Bruce Henderson; and her grandchildren, Ripley (Carlo) Angione, Savannah (Jacob) Mitton, Leo Bogart, Alivia Beckley, Petra Bogart, Samuel Bogart, and Violet Bogart, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren through her marriage to Owen.
She is also survived by her siblings, Mark (Melinda) Garfield, Deanna Church, Bob Chrisman, John Tabares, and Jesse Tabares.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Ernestine and Jack; her first husband, William; her stepson, Aaron; and his wife, Pamela.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman on Friday, August 14, 2026 from 2:00pm till the time of the funeral service at 3:00pm with Pastor Tim Lyons officiating.
