Carole A. Foxworthy Ray

Carole A. Foxworthy Ray, age 89 formerly of Waynetown, passed away on May 26, 2026 at Locust Ridge in Williamsburg, Ohio. She was born on May 6, 1937 to the late John and Lena (Black) Moody in Crawfordsville. Carole married John Foxworthy on May 14, 1967 in New Richmond, Indiana, spending 33 years together until his passing in 2000. She later married Clarence Ray, living together in Palmyra, Indiana, until his passing in 2006. 

Carole was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School, Class of 1955. She assisted John with the bookkeeping at Bower Show Print in Waynetown. Carole was a former member of Waynetown Church of Christ. She enjoyed a quiet day sewing and crafting at home. More than anything, Carole was known for being a social butterfly and her infamous birthday calls or visits. She never forgot a birthday or a phone number of those she loved. 

Carole is survived by her daughter, Amy Witt; grandchildren, Timothy, Dani, John and Aaron; stepson, Jim (Debbie) Foxworthy; and her nieces, nephew and extended family. She will also be missed by her cousins and close friends, Priscilla Zachery and Karen McGee. 

She was also predeceased by her sister, Judith Jarvis; and stepson, Fred (surviving wife, Carla) Foxworthy. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Sanders Funeral Care, 202 Bratton Road in Waynetown from 10am until the time of the service at 11am. Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
