Carolyn Sue Conrad

Carolyn Sue "Susie" Conrad, 65, of Crawfordsville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

A fierce and loving presence in the lives of all who knew her, Susie was the heart and soul of the Conrad family-their matriarch, their rock, and their greatest cheerleader. Known for her blunt wit, warm heart, and tireless devotion to her loved ones, she lived each day with grace, humor, and strength.

Susie found her greatest joy in the simple things: baking her famous chocolate chip cookies, relaxing on the lake, solving Celebrity Cipher puzzles, and soaking up every moment with her grandchildren. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and full plates, always centered around the people she loved most. She was a proud and faithful Catholic who lived her values quietly but fiercely, offering care and compassion to anyone who needed it.

Her love was unconditional. Her humor, unforgettable. Her legacy, immeasurable. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Susie graduated from Crawfordsville High School, Class of 1978. She worked at Nucor Steel, Crawfordsville Polic Department as a Dispatcher and retired in 2023 from the Montgomery County Court House.

Susie will be deeply missed by her husband of 32 years, Rick Conrad; children, Shelby Conrad and Shad Conrad; 4 grandchildren, Jaxon Lobmier, Ava Sue Conrad, Lyla Johnson and Beckett Hyde; and 4 siblings, Karen (Thomas) Zachary, Michael (Debbie) Page, Paul (Linda) Page and Laura (Stan) Servies.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 on St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 1306 E Main Street in Crawfordsville from 9:00 am in the Holy Cross Room until the time of the Mass in the Sanctuary at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
