Dale Cleon Martin, 87, of Crawfordsville passed away in Crawfordsville on January 5, 2026.

Dale graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1957. He served in the Indiana National Guard. He was baptized in the Christian church. In 1993, he retired from R.R. Donnelly and Sons, where he worked as a roll tender. In the 1960s he worked as a butcher at the Stop 'n' Shop in Greencastle. Dale enjoyed traveling to Florida in the winter, fishing, gardening, and visiting with neighbors. Friends called him Buck or Dang.

He was born to John and Dorothy (Berry) Martin at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis on April 5, 1938. He married Barbara Puckett on March 10, 1963. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Betty Joan Martin Pennington and Donna Lou Martin Collins. Survivors include his wife Barbara; son, Jeff (Kim) Martin of Crawfordsville; daughter, Dawn (Rick) Bray of Bloomington; grandchildren, Heather (Thomas) Wall of Ladoga and Taylor Bray of Bloomington; step-grandchild, Aubrey Kendall of Avon; nephew, Michael Pennington; great-niece, Amelia Pennington of Greenwood; seven great grandchildren; and several cousins. Survivors also include brothers and sisters in law, Travis Collins of Greencastle, Frank (Nancy) Puckett of Pinehurst, NC, Deborah Bratcher of Crawfordsville, Dan (Jo) Puckett of Cloverdale, Kieth (Dawn) Puckett of Greencastle, Paula (John) Perkins of Avon, and Jim Puckett of Otterbein.

The family wishes to express our thanks to his loyal caregivers, Ashley Dawson of Roachdale, and to the staff of Ben Hur Health and Rehabilitation.
