Debra Linn (Gray) DeMotte, age 69 of Cayuga, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026 at home while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Danville, Illinois on April 17, 1957 to the late Howard Mitchell Gray and Delores Ann Barker.
She graduated from Fountain Central High School in 1975 and went on to dedicate over 25 years of her life at Steel Grip. Deb also brought joy to many as a bartender at Sis's Place, where her infectious laughter and warm heart made everyone feel welcome.
Throughout her life, Debra was known for her candid nature and the sparkle in her eyes, especially on sunny days when she truly radiated happiness. Her love for summer and her fond memories of Hawaii filled her life with warmth and joy. She was undeniably the life of the party, bringing laughter and light wherever she went.
Deb was a devoted mother and grandmother, fiercely loving her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Jeremy (Lindsay) DeMotte of Cayuga, Sara (Ryan) Green of Covington, and Cody (Kailey) DeMotte of Terre Haute; her twelve beloved grandchildren, Ashlynn, Darby, Layla, Finnley, Landon, Davyn, Ryanna, Braydon, Colton, Talon, Sterling, and Celah; her sister, Mary Jo Gray; two step-brothers, Donnie and Dale Terrell; along with an abundance of friends who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Anna Marie Moore; and a step-brother, David Terrell.
