Debra Kay
Hart
Mar 23, 1964 — Jun 24, 2026
Debra "Deb" (Rush) Hart, age 62 of Crawfordsville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Franciscan Health Lafayette. She was born in Crawfordsville on March 23, 1964 to the late Charles and Kathryn (Bosworth) Rush.
Deb suffered from many medical complications throughout her adult life until her body was too tired to fight back. She accomplished many things in her life. While in high school, she held the record for the longest shot-put throw that stood for many years. She was a member of Youngs Chapel Christian Church and later the Yountsville Community Church.
She attended Lincoln Christian College after high school, took a mechanics course, volunteered at Hanging Rock Christian Camp and learned basic guitar from Don Whetstein. She married Charlie Hart on May 24, 1988. They worked together in several enterprises, including serving at the Yountsville Community Church many years and with the youth group at Youngs Chapel; she was always ready to share the love to Jesus. She went through EMT and paramedic training and worked at that for a few years. She had a very creative mind, using it in various ways as an artist, a writer, jewelry maker, and art projects, the biggest project being her house with much help from Charlie.
She had a big heart for law enforcement and prayed for our local servants daily. In her mind, they were her best buddies.
She will be greatly and sadly missed by her very best friend Charlie Hart who stood by supporting and caring for her until her death. Secondly by her next best friend, Jake, her dog. Also missed by her daughter, Becca (Jordan) Harrison; brother, Larry (Linda) Rush; sister, Vicki (Dan) Halstead; niece, Amber Corduan; nephews, Jeremy, Jason, Jonathan Hughes and Andrew Rush; aunt, Marge Rush; and cousins, Dave and Don Rush.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Kathy Rush; grandparents, Edward and Mary Rush; an uncle and a cousin.
Deb now rests with her Lord and Savior. Per her wishes, cremation will take place, with a private burial and no public services. Share memories and condolences online at www.SandersFuneralCare.com.
