Debra Jo (Linn) Koss, age 70, of Crawfordsville, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 14, 2025. She was born on November 22, 1954, to Donald Jean and Norma Jean Linn, whose names were well known in the community. She married Drew Koss on February 16, 1996.
Debi was a woman of deep faith, a lifelong Christian who was saved at the age of 29 and felt eternally grateful to God for His guidance and Strength throughout her life.
Debi graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1973 and went on to earn her LPN, beginning a 45-year career. She spent majority of her time serving Montgomery County, caring for countless individuals in many areas of nursing including obstetrics, geriatrics, memory care, private duty care, and at Joy Camp during the summers. She had the privilege of working alongside her favorite doctor, Dr. Mark Truax, and often spoke with joy about her calling to the field of nursing. Debi always felt certain that she was fulfilling God's purpose for her life through her work, and even after retiring, she found it difficult to step away from her passion for caregiving.
Debi loved many things in life-singing worship songs, gardening, cooking, caring for animals, especially dogs and horses, and working on jigsaw puzzles while listening to Bible studies and sermons. Her sense of humor and her ability to make people laugh were some of her many qualities. Most importantly, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
Debi will be deeply missed by her committed and faithful husband, Drew Koss; her wonderful son, Isaac Matthew Linn; sweet daughter-in-law Maggie; and her cherished grandson, Arthur Linn, who brought her immense joy in her later years. She will also be missed by her beloved sister, Diana Linn (Dennis) Christine, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Judith Ann White.
In honor of Debi's memory, private services will be held at Oak Hill North Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at Harvest Fellowship 1618 W. 500 S in Crawfordsville on September 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM. The family invites those who wish to honor her memory to consider donations to the Animal Welfare League, Thru the Gate, or Pam's Promise. Sanders Funeral Care is entrusted with care.
