Mrs. Doris Evelyn (Wilson) Crispin, 78, Crawfordsville, passed away September 14th, in the Ben Hur Nursing Home. She was born August 15th, 1937 in Scott County, Indiana, to the late Rev. Roy E. and Bessie A. (Turner) Wilson. She married Charles E. Crispin in Montgomery County in 1970. He preceded her in death on February 27th, 2011.
Doris was a long time employee for 37 years with R.R. Donnelleys and Sons of Crawfordsville, having worked there with her husband until her retirement. She also had worked at the McDonald's in Monticello. She was a 1955 graduate of Veedersburg High School; was a member of the American Legion, Moose, and Eagles Auxiliaries of Crawfordsville and the Am Vets Auxiliary of Monticello. In her free time enjoyed playing the piano, fishing, boating, bowling, gardening, observing and feeding the wildlife in the Lake Shafer area. She especially had a great love for her pet pugs and cats..
She is survived by her step-children: Judith L. (Rodney) Jenkins, New Ross, and Garry S. Crispin, Crawfordsville. Also surviving are her siblings: Catherine (Paul) Williams, Beachwood, Ohio; David Wilson, Kingman; James Wilson, Crawfordsville; Evangeline (Fouad) Hawa, Evansville; Stephen (Cindy) Wilson, Nashville, Tennessee; Karen (Robert) Hoff, Nashville, Tennessee; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her step-daughter: Laurie A. Turpin; a brother: Paul F. Wilson; and her sister: Caroline Wilson Suiter.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 AM Monday, September 28th, in the Oak Hill North Cemetery with Rev. Greg McDonald officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home.
