Doris Patton

Mrs. Doris E. Patton, 87, Crawfordsville, passed away Sunday, December 2, at 7:50 PM, in St. Elizabeth Central Hospital, Lafayette. She was born September 23, 1925, in Crawfordsville, to Walter and Alberta (Swank) Northcutt. She married Charles E. Patton on November 24, 1945, in Crawfordsville. He preceded her in death in 2000.

Mrs. Patton was a homemaker and had worked a short time at RR Donnelleys. She was a member of the Crawfordsville First Church of the Nazarene; was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School; member of the Eagles Lodge; and enjoyed playing Bingo and going to auctions and yard sales.

She is survived by her daughters: Shirley (Charles) James, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Joyce Patton, Crawfordsville; and Sue (Paul ) Burris, Crawfordsville. Also surviving are brothers: David Northcutt, Napa Valley, California; Gene (Lyla) Northcutt, Dover, Delaware; Paul (Kathy) Northcutt, Warsaw, Indiana; Larry (Linda) Northcutt, Lebanon; sisters: Joretta (Gary) Jones, Michigan; Linda (Dan) Stewart, Waynetown; grandchildren: Julie Verdegem, Necole Brennan, Adrian Burris, and Chelsea Wilkins; 11 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Jim, Dick, and Ralph Northcutt; sister: Alice Bane.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 8, at 2:00 PM, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Uhl officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill North Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from Noon until 2:00 PM.
