Esther Jane Stephens

Ms. Esther Jane "Janie" Stephens, formerly of Waynetown,  passed away Monday morning October 21st at Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville, IN.

Janie was born on February 14, 1937 the daughter of Harley Loren and Minnie Viola (nee: Tate) Stephens at home in Fountain County, IN. Regardless of any personal or health challenges Janie was a happy soul and was home schooled through the 8th grade. She loved her Lord and had attended Friendship Baptist Church and most recently First Baptist Church of Crawfordsville, IN. She was always a welcome sight to be seen zipping down town at Waynetown in her power chair getting her mail or doing other errands.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jerry Stephens and sisters Joan Riddell Lawson, Annie Barnhart, and Judy Carroll. Janie is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Linda and James Witham of Crawfordsville and a large and loving number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Janie had requested a simple cremation with a celebration of her life to be held at the Waynetown Baptist Church on Tuesday November 5th from 4:00pm to 5:00pm with a service conducted by Pastors Loren Stephens and Chris Horton at 5:00pm.
