Evelyn Lucille Swank

Evelyn Lucille (Barton) Swank, age 86, of Waynetown, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Wellbrooke. She was born in Crawfordsville on January 6, 1940 to the late Charles Harvey and Edna Lucille (Ray) Barton.

Evelyn graduated from Waynetown High School, where she was crowned Homecoming Queen. She married Jack Dean Swank in August 1959, he preceded her in death on December 25, 2015. Throughout her life, Evelyn worked and managed F&F Marts in both Crawfordsville and Waynetown.

Evelyn was a deeply committed member of the Waynetown Baptist Church. She cherished time spent having lunch with the ladies after church, always willing to try new restaurants. Full of life and always on the go, Evelyn found joy in staying busy, including mowing several yards with her trusty John Deere. Above all, she loved time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Evelyn will be deeply missed by her two sons, Gary (Pam Switzer) Swank and Mike (Angie) Swank; four grandchildren, Jacob Swank, Katie Cortez, Samantha Teeter, and Kenzie Swank; her brothers, Harvey (Carole) Barton and Joe (Sharon) Barton; and great-grandchildren, Ryder and Lilly Swank and a baby girl on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and her sisters, Clara Jane Barton and Joyce Birge.

A visitation will be held at Sanders Funeral Care, 202 Bratton Road in Waynetown on Monday, February 23, 2026 from 4:00 PM until the time of funeral service at 6:00 PM with Pastors Rob Caudill and Joe Humrichous officiating.
