George M. Alongi

George M. Alongi, age 56, was reunited with his Lord and Savior on January 20, 2026 at home. He was born on September 21, 1969 to the late George Alongi and Sharon C. Alongi Sisco in Chicago.

George married Mindy Flynn on August 19, 1989 Westmont, IL. George attended West Plains High School in Missouri and graduated from Downers Grove High School in Illinois.

He was a former salesman and finance manager before becoming the proud owner of New Start Motors. George was also a former pastor of New Start Ministries in Veedersburg, where he shared his passion for the Lord with the community. He loved fishing and boating while living in his dream home at Lake Waveland, and would come home to cook on the barbeque, as the family "grill master." George and Mindy enjoyed going on vacations with their family.

George will be greatly missed by his wife, Mindy; daughter, Sophia (Justin) Wilson; sons, Anthony, George, Franco (Allison) and Josiah Alongi; grandchildren, Haven, Halston, Huntington, Harlow, Elliana and another little one on the way; and sister, Sharina (Chuck) Alongi Smith.
