Grant Allen Lough

Grant Allen Lough took his last breath on earth and first breath in heaven on July 30, 2026. He was born on July 6, 1987 to Gayle and Deborah (Neely) Lough in Crawfordsville. Grant married Kimbra Carpenter on March 22, 2014 at Bethel Baptist Church, Danville, IL by Kimbra's father, Pastor Mark Carpenter.

He was a graduate of North Montgomery High School, Class of 2006. Grant was a 10-year member of Montgomery County 4-H in Swine and Crops and participated in the Tractor program and showed goats. He loved attending the yearly fair and eating pork burgers. Grant worked on Gayle Lough Family Farms in Darlington, with livestock and grain, always giving 110%. He was a member of Rock Point Church but more importantly, he was a lifelong follower of Jesus and tried to demonstrate that every day. Grant enjoyed spending time with his nephew and loved sports, especially following the St. Louis Cardinals with "Boss Man". Grant lived his life loving his faith, family and farming.

Grant fought cancer for 5 years, and it was a hard-fought battle. Cancer did not win; it stole time, took comfort and ultimately his life, but it never took his smile, his faith, or his love for his family and friends. Please do not let cancer take from Grant's testimony; he loved and trusted Jesus, deeply loved his family, had the brightest smile and was devoted to being the best farmer.

Grant is survived by his cherished wife and best friend, Kimbra; parents, Gayle & Deb Lough; in-laws, Mark "Boss Man" & Pat Carpenter; his special dogs, Tucker and Dolly; sister, Ginny (Jake) Jones; nephews, Zachary Spa and John Jones; nieces, Kaitlyn Spa and Lillian Carpenter; and honorary nieces and nephews, Bindi, Tilli, Zachary and Eliette. He will also be greatly missed by a large extended family, countless friends and a community that will forever honor Grant's memory.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald B. & Dorothy Lough and John & Barb Neely.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 from 4-7 pm at North Cornerstone Church, 609 S Main Street in Linden. The funeral service will follow on Wednesday at 10:00 am at the church. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Darlington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donation information will be available at the service for a scholarship assisting a future farmer's academics.
