Helen Louise (Foster) Grimes, age 78 of Crawfordsville, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Franciscan Health East in Lafayette. She was born in Peoria, Illinois on September 27, 1942 to the late James Milton & Martha Elizabeth (Meaike) Foster.
Helen graduated from Wallace High School in 1960 and last worked at Lafayette Venetian Blind Company before she retired. She was very dedicated to Church Alive in Crawfordsville and loved all her church family and the children. She worked with the children in Children’s Church.
She loved the Lord and never missed a day reading her bible and journaling when she was able. She led praise and worship at several nursing homes for many years. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. For Christmas she always crocheted or made something special for all her grandchildren.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Daniel (Kimberly) Ricketts, Ronnie (Christie) Sheldon, and Robbie Sheldon; daughter-in-law, Tammy Ricketts; a step-daughter, Tanya (Danny) Stewart; 6 siblings, Georgetta (Charles) Starnes, Judy (Don) Leeke, Rodger (Sue) Foster, Patty (Tom) Crowder, Susan (Larry) Dalton, Salli (Ray) Keeler; a sister-in-law, Earlene Foster; 16 grandchildren, Jon (Brida) Ricketts, Chris (Loretta) Ricketts, Andy (Abbie) Ricketts, Joni (Earnie) Miller, Tony (Angela) Ricketts, Brett Sheldon, Mackenzie (Jake) Wolfe, Loren (Dustin) Rockhill, Kionni (Justin) Bigler, Hayden (Tari) Harshman, Austin Harshman, Kenlie Harshman Solano, Cody Snider, Asher Stewart, Haley Stewart and Tabitha Landreth; 25 great grandchildren, Tristan, Nicholas, McKala, Kiley, Carter, Cambree, Shaylin, Kayden, Braylen, Meagan, Samuel, Brooklyn, Korbyn, Emma, Branson, Bowen, Baylor, Evelyn, Kade, Kolby, Cal, Killian, Jason, Braydon, and Trayton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; 2 brothers, Bob & Jim Foster; her son, David Ricketts; and a daughter-in-law, Kim Sheldon.
There will be a Graveside Service at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Mace Community Cemetery with Pastor Dan Matthews officiating.
