Obituary

Helen Mae Reynolds, 91, a life-long resident of Montgomery County passed away peacefully at 8:45 P.M. on September 1, 2015, at Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville. Helen was born on January 4, 1924, in Bal Hinch to Homer E. and Rissie A. (Turner) Keller. She attended her beloved Smartsburg School for eight years and graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1941.

She married George B. Reynolds on August 5, 1942, at her home in Montgomery County. George died on August 27, 1984. George and Helen lived their lives together on the family farm near Mace. They owned and operated Reynolds Trucking Company for 35 years. Helen was also employed by Waterford Apartments for five years.

She was a member of Mace United Methodist Church and attended the New Hope Christian Church for several years. She was, also, a member of the Business and Professional Women, New Ross Extension Club, and the Hoosier Doll Club. Helen enjoyed gardening, traveling, cooking and entertaining family and friends. She was one you could always count on to do more than her share.

Helen was preceded in death by her brothers Everett and Kenneth Keller; grandson Anthony Reynolds; and daughter-in-law Jane Rynearson Reynolds.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara (Marlin) Harker of Kingsport, Tennessee, son Tom (Marsha) Reynolds of Indianapolis, and daughter Nancy (Mike) Burkett of Crawfordsville. Her seven grandchildren include Ed (Christine) Harker of Park Ridge, Illinois, Natalie (Tom) Davis of Zionsville, Emily Reynolds of Culver City, California, Kelly (Jonathan) Shannon of Crawfordsville, Paul Burkett of Crawfordsville, Ben (Cara) Burkett of Gas City, and Alicia Reynolds of Indianapolis. She also has seven great grandchildren.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 5th, at Powers Priebe Funeral Home with Revs Gary Keller and Michael Keller officiating. Burial will follow in the Mace Community Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until the service time.
