Hillis Hubert Wilson

Mr. Hillis Hubert Wilson, 85, Crawfordsville, passed away peacefully at 5:30 PM on Monday, August 24th, in the Franciscan St. Elizabeth Crawfordsville Hospital. He was born December 1st, 1929, in Brownsvalley, to Benjamin Harrison and Hazel Eloise (Bradford) Wilson. He married Sharon Louise Hicks on June 28th, 1961, and they had two children during their more than 50 years of marriage. She survives.

Hubert graduated from Ladoga High School in 1948 and served in the U. S. Air Force before starting his typesetting career at R. R. Donnelley & Sons in Crawfordsville. He also served for 30 years as a Lay Pastor at the Prairie Chapel Church in Fountain County. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as well as reading Scripture, gardening, and watching basketball.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Michael (Sarah) Wilson, Franklin, Indiana; and Samuel (Amy) Wilson, Indianapolis. Also surviving is his sister: Maxine Booker, Crawfordsville; and grandchildren: Christina Wilson, Stephanie Wilson, and Joshua Wilson.

A Public Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28th, from Noon until 2:00 PM at the Powers-Priebe Funeral Home. The burial and public graveside service will be held on Friday at 2:30 PM in the Oak Hill South Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Keller officiating
