James "Jim" Harmon Lewis, age 81 of Kingman, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, May 23, 2026, while at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Kingman on February 11, 1945, to the late James Brantley & Marjorie D. (Harmon) Lewis.
Jim graduated from Kingman High School in 1963 and later graduated from Indiana Business College and Danville Area Community College. Known for his hard work and dedication, Jim spent most of his life as a farmer, pouring his heart into the land he loved. His work ethic was matched only by his commitment to his role in maintenance at Turkey Run Schools, where he was a familiar and friendly face.
Jim found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid reader, a lover of the great outdoors, and a passionate hunter. However, what brought him the greatest happiness was the time spent with his family. Jim's warmth, laughter, and unwavering support will be profoundly missed by his family, and all who knew him. Jim loved his Lord and Savior and was a member of the Prairie Creek Baptist Church.
On August 20, 1966, he married the love of his life, Ruby Joyce (Fox) Lewis, who survives. He also leaves behind four children, James Scott (Amy) Lewis of North Manchester, Jennifer Christine (Jim) Millikan of Pittsboro, Jeremy Brian (Rachel) Lewis of Carbon, and Lisa Joy (Rick) King of Fisher; ten grandchildren, Joshua (Mandy) Millikan, Molly (Matthew) Myers, Morgan Millikan, Spencer Lewis, Gabrielle Lewis, Quinn Lewis, Brody Lewis, Cooper Lewis, Reece Lewis, and Sabrina King; five great grandchildren, Esther, Joanna and Lois Millikan and Joel, Lucy, and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Patricia Joan Jones and Judith Ann Perkins.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 11:00am with Pastor Loren Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Prairie Creek Baptist Church or Twin Lakes Camp. Share memories and condolences online at www.SandersFuneralCare.com.
