James "Jim" Allen Meadows, age 82 of rural Crawfordsville, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at home. He was born on December 21, 1943 to Robert and Dorothy (Stephens) Meadows in Crawfordsville. Jim married Sandra Gibbs in 1962, raising their 2 daughters until they divorced in 1976. He married Vicki Voorhees, having their son, and later divorced. Jim then married Mary Ann Largent on July 23, 1986 in Crawfordsville, spending 28 loving years together until her passing in 2014.
He was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School, Class of 1963. Jim was a heavy equipment operator for the County Highway Department, retiring in 1999. After retirement, he worked as a truck driver for Reed Tri-Haul. Jim was a member of the Moose Lodge in Crawfordsville. He enjoyed flying all sorts of model airplanes, riding motorcycles, driving stock cars and his drag truck. In his younger years, he spent time hunting and fishing as well. Jim was a jack of all trades and enjoyed keeping busy at home with his garden.
Jim is survived by his children, Margaret (Glenn) Jones, Angie Fielder, Misty (Gene) Browning, Kim Meadows, Jason (Bobbie) Meadows; grandchildren, Amber (Brian) Crumley, Christy (Blake) Kemple, Autumn Henderson, Kiley-Jo (Cody Harshman) Griggs, John (Rachel) Fielder, Jr., Justin (Cassandra) Fielder, RaeAn (Dakota) Buker, Shelbi Browning, Taeler (Spencer) Allen, Chase (Carissa) Meadows, Corbin Meadows, Liam Meadows, McKenna Meadows; and many great grandchildren. He will also be missed by several nieces, nephews and extended family.
He is predeceased by his parents; wife, Mary Ann Meadows; siblings, John Meadows and Roberta Swain; son-in-law, John Fielder; and nephew, Danny Noland.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026 from 5-7 pm at Sanders Funeral Care, 202 Bratton Road in Waynetown. A funeral home service will follow on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 11am and burial at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Share memories and condolences at www.SandersFuneralCare.com.
