James Arnold Rogers Sr.

James Arnold Rogers Sr. age 76, passed away at 6:30 am Tuesday November 1, 2011 at his home. born on September 6, 1935 in Indianapolis, In. he was the son of Boyd Otho and Alma Ellen Banta Rogers. A Graduate of Coal Creek Central High School he worked as a material handler at R.R. Donnelley and Sons for 44 years.
He first married Virginia Pittman and they later divorced. He then married Martha Joyce Weaver on July 20, 1963 and she survives. He is also survived by his son James A. (wife- Donna) Rogers Jr. of Crawfordsville, In. Stepsons: Randy Phelps of Crawfordsville, In. and Russell Phelps of Darlington, In. One his daughter: Deborah Kay Rush (fiancee - Roger Ratscar) of West End, North Carolina.
He is also survived by a brother: Max (wife - Beverly) Rogers of Waynetown, In. and two sisters Janice (husband - Roger) Kunkle and Sally (husband - Keith) Scott both of New Richmond, In. 4 grandsons, 1 grand daughter, 6 great Grandchildren, 3 step granddaughters and 5 step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday November 4, 2011 at Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Bratton Rd. Waynetown, In. officiated by Rev. John Pettigrew. Burial will be in New Richmond Cemetery. friends may call at the fuenral home on Thursday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Memorial donations may be made to North Montgomery Basketball at North Montgomery High School, 5945 N. US Highway 231, Craawfordsville, In.
