Jerry Harold Deener

March 20, 1946 — September 2, 2018

Jerry H. “Yogi” Deener, age 72 of Crawfordsville and formerly of Marshall, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at home while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Clinton, IN on March 20, 1946 to the late Harold & Sarah (Bell) Deener.

He graduated from Turkey Run High School in 1964. He was married to Lois Harlan, they later divorced and he remarried Sharon Ann (Melton) Deener on July 2, 1995. He worked at RR Donnelley for 34 years as a forklift operator. He was a huge sports fan and loved IU basketball, Cubs baseball, and Indy racing.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Deener; a son, Darin (Megan) Deener; two daughters; Kelly (Jaramiah) Waldron and Tiffany Waltz; two sisters, Suzane Rea and Janice (Kevin) Stewart; six grandchildren, Morgan Dale, Austin Lee, Macie, Dylin, Madelyn, and Gracie; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington St. in Crawfordsville on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 12:00pm till the time of the funeral service at 2:00pm with Pastor Rick Faye officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery in Marshall. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County, 1104 Big Four Arch Road, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
