Jesse E. Howard

Jesse E. Howard, age 82 of Crawfordsville, IN, formally of Linden, IN, passed away on June 29 at 5:00am at his residence after a battle with liver and lung cancer.

Jesse was born on June 17, 1936 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, to the late Malcolm and Bessie (Page) Howard. He graduated from Crawfordsville High School. He then proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for the next six years where he earned the Expert Rifle Badge.

He married G. Sue Ray who preceded him in death in 1989.

He spent most of his life driving a school bus and working for the North Montgomery School Corporation. He attended the Church of Christ on Englewood Avenue. He enjoyed designing and working in his flower gardens, helping others in need and doing things to help his family.

Jesse is survived by his four children, Roger Raynes of Lafayette, Pastor Randy Raynes (wife: Vickie) of Mansfield, Ohio, Mike Howard (wife: Martha) of Denver, Colorado, and Paulette (husband: Terry) Chase of Lafayette, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and two siblings, Ruth Cordes and Cecil Howard both of Crawfordsville.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Joyce, a brother, Edward Howard, and a sister, Helen Howard.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St, in Crawfordsville on Tuesday, July 3 from 12:00pm till the time of the funeral service at 2:00 pm with Pastor Randy Raynes and Pastor Terry Chase officiating.
