Jodi Kay Franklin

Mrs. Jodi Kay Franklin, age 44, of Darlington, IN, passed away at her home surrounded by her family. Jodi was born on January 16, 1971 at Crawfordsville, IN., the daughter of Robert Allen Shirar and Donna Lee (nee Stewart)Shirar. She graduated from North Montgomery High School and trained and became a certified nursing assistant. She and James Franklin were married on February 21, 2009. She was baptized as a child at Calvery Baptist Church. Jodi loved to collect stuffed Panda bears, did scrap booking, enjoyed watching her children and step children participate in 4-H. She was a very caring person devoted to caring for her family and the residents of Bickford Cottage.

She is survived by her husband James Franklin of Darlington, IN. Children; Zachary (Alicia) Haley of Darlington, IN., Brandon Haley of Crawfordsville, IN., and Makade Fisher of Darlington, IN. Step children; Zachary Franklin, Michayla Franklin, and Kalisha Franklin of Russelville, IN. Parents Robert and Donna Shirar of Darlington, IN. Mother-in-law; Louann Frankin of New Richmond, IN. Brother Robert Shirar Jr. of Darlington, IN., and sister Angela (Toby) Lucas of New Ross, IN.

Jodi chose to have cremation and asked for a celebration of her life which will be held on Saturday August 29th from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the Darlington Conservation Club, one and one half mile north of Darlington on county road 700 east. (Stockwell Rd.)
