John Warren Bruton, age 70, of Crawfordsville, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Franciscan Health Crawfordville. He was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on July 28, 1951 to the late Joe William and Edna Valerea (Cannon) Bruton.
John attended Crawfordsville High School and went on to serve his county in the United States Marine Corps serving in the Vietnam War. Throughout his life, John farmed and worked as a truck driver before his retirement in 2013. He received an award for being a million-mile driver in long haul safety. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and watching Western TV.
He is survived by his daughter, Ann (Ryan) Furr; a son, Tom Bruton; a brother, Joe (Joyce) Bruton; two sisters, Linda Cooper and Dinah (Jim) Tudor; 4 grandchildren, Erica Furr; Brittany (Juan) Morales, Macy Jo, Zoe Harp; 6 great-grandchildren, Alexa, Harlee, Mia, Emmi, Luka, and Hayden; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Marjorie Addler, Carol Rentchler, and Frances Miller; a brother, Jerry Bruton, and a daughter-in-law- Sherry Bruton.
There will be a graveside service at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 11:00 am with Military Honors by the United States Marine Corps and Bryan Cox Post 72 Honor Guard.
