John William "Bill" Whiteley

John William "Bill" Whiteley passed away early Friday morning, October 31, 2025 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis following an extended illness.

Bill was born in Speedway, Indiana to Ben and Mary (Heckathorn) Whiteley on November 12, 1935. He was a 1953 graduate of Russellville High School and following graduation went to work at the Donnelley plant where he met his wife to be, Jane Sabens-Whiteley, they were married February 4, 1955 in Russellville and shared many joys together for 70 years.

Bill was a business owner of CWY Electronics with 2 partners in Lafayette. The business was successful for 45 years and as a result enabled the two of them to enjoy some world traveling. Bill was a proud Mason for 50 years.

The greatest joy in Bill's life was caring for his family and of course his business. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Anita Faye Stewart; and two brothers, Frank Raymond Whiteley and Edgar Lee Whiteley.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jane; son, Jeffrey Ray Whiteley of Westfield; a daughter, Melannie Jayne Clark of Crawfordsville; sister, Marilyn Sue Norton of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Jay B. Whiteley of Crawfordsville and Lew David Whiteley of Clarks Hill; six grandchildren, Frankie (Kayla) Clark, Ryan Clark, Noah Clark, Jackie (Bryan) Hughs, Amanda (fiancé Barry) Whiteley and Chelsea (fiancé Jesse) Whiteley; great grandchildren, Dalton (Andriana) Belcher, Brady and Rhiannon Clark, Avery and Kalob Akins, Marli, Nash, and Dani Natoras, Christian Whiteley, and Cade, Nova and Ryker Hinshaw; and one great great grandchild on the way!
