Joseph Wayne Naughgles

Joseph "Joe" Wayne Naughgles, age 79 of Rockville, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at St Vincent Heart Center in Carmel. He was born in Brazil, Indiana on October 14, 1946 to the late Joseph Leland and Evelyn Imogene (Urbain) Naughgles.

Joe graduated from Rosedale High School in 1964 and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam. On August 17, 1968 he married the love of his life, Dixie (Wampler) Naughgles. Throughout the years he worked at the Indiana Correctional Facility in Rockville for 27 years and Master Guard in Veedersburg for 10 years. He was a member of the AmVets, American Legion and the VFW. He enjoyed golfing with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dixie Naughgles; a daughter, Gwendolyn (partner - Mark Brashier) Teneyuca; seven grandchildren, Randy, Dalton (Amanda), Tori (Mark), Shelby (Mike), Jole, Cameron and Gracie; nine great grandchildren, Brooke, Haliana, Preslee, Hoyt, Walker, Teller, Drogon, Marilou, and Adeline; one great-great grandson, Bowen; a sister, Cathy "Dolly" Brighenti; and daughter-in-law, Sherrie Elder.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Leland Naughgles; two daughters, Christine Reed-Link and Angela Rae; great granddaughter, Nova Dawne; a brother, Roy Lee Naughgles; a sister, Betty Young; and a special niece, Evelyn "Punkin" Williams.

Visitation will be at Faithbridge Assembly of God, 541 W US 36, in Rockville on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 10:30am till the time of the funeral service at 1:00pm with military honors by the United States Navy.
