June Maire Kinneer Moore, age 91, a farm girl from near Cates, IN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2025. June was born at home on Sunday, May 27, 1934 to Clyde and Hazel Marie (Huffman) Kinneer). She was an only child.
June attended Cates School and Kingman High School, graduating in 1952. She received a BS in Education from Indiana Central College and a MS from Indiana State University. June taught school at Covington, Cates, Veedersburg and Southeast Fountain in 1st through 5th grade. She retired in 1997, after 36 years as an educator.
June married the love of her life, Alfred Moore, on January 23, 1955. Alfred preceded her in death on Thursday, April 26, 2012. She is survived by three children, Clyde (Debby) Moore, Jannie Denhart and Sam (Sara) Moore. June is also survived by two grandchildren, Brian Moore and Shalynne (Daniel) Addison. June's great grandchildren, whom she cherished, include Ezekiel, Elisha, Zachariah, Hezekiah, Elizabeth, Hannah, Lilith, Ashlynne and Kara Addison and Paxton Moore.
June was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Jessica Moore; and son-in-law, Doug Denhart.
She attended East Liberty Christian Church and was later a member at Cates Community Church, where she was a teacher in the adult class. She later attended the Kingman Methodist Church.
June was a member of the Fountain-Warren Retired Teachers, the Indiana State Teachers Association, The Cate Missionary Women, The Fountain Co. Genealogy Society, the Jayco Camping Club and the Friends and Neighbors Home Extension Club. She was a 4-H Leader for many years and a member of the 4-H Council.
June traveled extensively with her husband, visiting 49 states in their fifth wheel camper. She was an avid reader and loved dachshunds. June enjoyed being in the community and meeting her former students. She was active with Kingman, Tangier and University of Indianapolis Alumni. She enjoyed shopping and would shop for Christmas all year long. June dearly loved her family and enjoyed having them all there for Sunday dinners.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 1st Street in Kingman, from 12 noon until the time of the service at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Rockfield Cemetery in Veedersburg. Share memories and condolences at www.SandersFuneralCare.com.
