Kay Starr Rickard

Kay Starr (King) Rickard, age 70, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2025, at the Lane House. She was born in Terre Haute on March 20, 1955, to the late John King and Dorothy (Jarvis) Shuman.

Kay married Larry Rickard, he preceded her in death. She took great pride in her career at Indiana State University, where she worked as a housekeeping. Kay never met a stranger and many loved her. She enjoyed crocheting and crafting in her free time.

Kay will be deeply missed by her daughters, Stacey (Timothy) Burns and Amy (Brad Peters) King; grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy (Noelle), Brittany (Dominick), Brad, Danielle, Micheal (Cierra), Candra (Hunter), Hailey, and Kylie; a brother, John "Butch" King; Companion, Mike Kirkendall; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry; son, Danny Gray; siblings, Rusty King and Alice Green; fiancé, Randy Emmery; and grandson, Denzel King.

Kay's family would like to thank Guardian Angel Hospice and Lane House Nursing Home for their excellent care.
