LaVeta Laverne (Little) Millikan

Tangier

LaVeta Laverne (Little) Millikan, age 81 of Tangier went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at home while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Howard, Indiana on May 21, 1938 to the late Kelly Earl & Opal Norene (Marshall) Little.

LaVeta graduated from Tangier High School and on May 5, 1956 she married John Melburn Millikan, who preceded her in death in November of 2001. Throughout the years she was a homemaker and farm wife and later worked as a cook supervisor at the FCA Camp, Rockville Women’s Prison, and the Turkey Run Inn. She also worked as a custodian at the Parke County Court House and Turkey Run State Park. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Mt. Herman Bible Church. She enjoyed going to church and loved her Lord and family. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, John Millikan, Bruce (Theresa) Millikan and Julie Stalker, all of Tangier; a brother, Dean (Bev) Little of Bloomingdale; a sister, Lila (Rich) Ritz of Florida; 8 grandchildren, Tara (Andrew) Pickett, John V. (Megan) Millikan, Angela (Joshua) Phipps, Shane (Nicole) Flaurr, Jason (Kelly) Millikan, Rachel Millikan, Dustin (Alexis) Doss, and Meghan Doss; and 9 great grandchildren, Audra, Karsen, Johnathon, Elijah, Elizabeth, Riley, Addison, Emmalyn, and Callie Jo; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Millikan; a son, Terry Millikan; siblings, Joe Little, Norma Cruse, Linda Collings, and Kelly Lee Little.

Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street in Kingman on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. The funeral service will be Friday, February 21, 2020 at 11:00am at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Crum and Pastor Carl Huxford officiating. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery.
