Linda Lou (Ray) Himes, age 79 of Crawfordsville, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Ben Hur Health and Rehab. She was born in Corbin, Kentucky on February 6, 1947 to the late Alvin Arnold & Hazel Mae (Williams) Ray.
Linda graduated from Corbin High School in Kentucky, attended University of Kentucky and later graduated from Ivy Tech. Throughout the years she worked at RR Donnelley's, Random House and was a phlebotomist at Culver Hospital and Methodist Hospital. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Her dedication to her work was only matched by her passion for family and sports. An avid sports fan, Linda could discuss every game and player with the enthusiasm of an expert. Whether it was a thrilling game on TV or a day spent outside, she embraced life with open arms, sharing her love for the ocean and the great outdoors with those around her.
On February 26, 1991, she married Stanley Curtis Himes, who survives. She also leaves behind two daughters, Kim Buckner Clark and Kelly (Greg) Price; a stepdaughter, Heather (James) Cravens; six grandchildren, Courtney (Morgan) Celner, Camilla (Christian) Evans, Reese and Cooper Price, and Amelia and Elliott Cravens; a great granddaughter, Clara Mae Evans; four sisters, Theresa (Rusty) McIntyre, Jean (Jeff) Hiatt, Brenda (David) Noe, and Tonya Qualls; a brother, Paul "Bubby" Ray; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Arnie Ray and Jimmy Ray; and a sister, Saundra May.
Visitation will be at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1086 N County Road 125 W, in Crawfordsville on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 from 10:00am till the time of the funeral service at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Ladoga Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, make a memorial donation in her memory to your favorite charity.
