Linda Lou (Howell) Jones

Linda Lou (Howell) Jones, age 83 of Crawfordsville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 29, 2020. She was born in Crawfordsville on August 17, 1936 to the late Loren Franklin & Mildred Louise (Hunt) Howell.

Linda graduated from Waveland High School and on May 21, 1954 she married Carroll Lee Jones, who preceded her in death on August 26, 2017. Throughout the years Linda worked as a switchboard operator at the Old Culver Hospital, worked in Human Resources at Mid-States Wire, and retired as the food director at Crawfordsville Park & Rec. She was a member of the New Market Christian Church and a member of the “Singing Jones”. She enjoyed camping, singing, boating, traveling, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by a daughter, Judy (Jack) Price of Crawfordsville; two sons, Bill Jones of Alamo and Kevin Jones of Newport Richey, Florida; four brothers, Jack (Sue) Howell of New Market, Danny Howell of Logansport, Frank Howell of Peru, and Tom (Sharon) Howell of Crawfordsville; 9 grandchildren, Jodi (Sam) Fairfield of Crawfordsville, James (Michelle) Price of Zionsville, Julie (Adam) Anderson of Waveland, Heather (Duane) Richardson of Solsberry, Joshua Currie of IL, Amanda Jones of Jasper, Samantha (Matthew) Henson of IL, Kayla (Jordon) Hill of Jasper, and Andrew Currie of IL; 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carroll; a son, Jack Lee Jones; a brother, Richard Howell; and an infant sister, Sandra Sue.

Visitation will be at the New Market Christian Church, 302 S 3rd Street in New Market on Friday, June 5, 2020 from 11:00am till the time of the funeral service at 1:00pm with Pastor Gary Snowden officiating. Social distancing is expected and limited numbers will be allowed to enter at a time. The service will be recorded, which can be viewed on Linda’s obituary page at www.sandersfuneralcare.com.
