Marcia Elaine Caldwell

Marcia Elaine (Melvin) Caldwell, age 81, of Crawfordsville, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026 at Franciscan Health Lafayette. She was born August 2, 1944, in Crawfordsville to the late Harold and Eleanor (Stockdale) Melvin.

Marcia graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1962. She received her bachelor's degree from University of Evansville and her Master of Education from Indiana State University.

Marcia taught at the old Darlington High School for a short time and retired from Wabash College after 25 years of employment. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and spending time with her family.

Marcia deeply loved the Lord and attended Christ United Methodist Church.

Marcia is survived by her children; Rachel Davis of Georgia, Dirk (Cathy) Caldwell of Waynetown, Kerith (Brian) Bourff of Crawfordsville; brother, Alan (Rose) Melvin; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary Caldwell, who she was married to for 38 years; daughter, Yvonne Melvin; son-in-law, William Melvin; and a great-grandson, Bowen Bourff.
