Mrs. Mary Edith Bray, 85, Crawfordsville, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 1, at 11:50 PM. She was born November 1, 1925, in Norwood, Ohio, to Henry Everette and Edith Velma (Cope) Poynter. She was raised by her father and grandparents, John and Mary "Molly" Cope, after the early death of her mother. She married Robert V. Bray December 8, 1944 in Crawfordsville. He preceded her in death .

Mrs. Bray was retired from the Montgomery County Recorders Office. She also had worked in several departments at RR Donnelleys & Sons, and 17 years at DeKalb. She graduated from Waynetown High School; was a member of the First Baptist Church, Crawfordsville, since 1949, where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Sunday School Class; worked with FISH Organization and Meals on Wheels for several years.

She is survived by her children: Teresa Ann (Gary) Duncan, Crawfordsville; Janis Marie Bray, Frankfort; Bonita Jo (Don) Mills, Yountsville; Kimberly Sue Huddleson, Crawfordsville; Michael Robert (Lorie) Bray, Los Angeles; and Phillip Wesley (Lisa) Bray, Crawfordsville. Also surviving is a step-brother: Donald (Liz) Bray, Crawfordsville, and 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a step-sister, Mary Anna Gibbs.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 4, at 6:30 PM at the First Baptist Church of Crawfordsville, 1905 Lebanon Rd., with Revs. Mike Wren, Isaac Zull, and

Jim Ranard officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral service. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 4:00 PM until 6:30 PM. Memorials may be made to the: Alpha Chi Sunday School Class, in care of the church. Online condolences may be sent to: powerspriebefh.com
