Mary Lou (Foster) Henry

Mary Lou Abbott Henry passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Ben Hur Nursing Home. She was born on March 26, 1927 to the late David and Ruth (Seybold) Foster. She was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School, Class of '46. Mary and James "Bill" Abbott were married in 1952, until his passing in 1959. She was also the former wife of William Henry.

Mary worked for Indiana Bell and Montgomery Ward. She was a longtime member of the Smartsburg Christian Church. In her spare time, Mary loved watching westerns and listening to music. She enjoyed caring for dogs and cats, but the most important part of her life was spending time with family.

Mary is survived by her 3 children, Nancy Jeffrey, Patricia (Rick) Kinnett, Gregory (Linda) Abbott; stepson James T. Abbott; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and her sister, Patricia Yount.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Bill; and siblings Lucille Shahan, Robert Foster, Don Foster, Donnis Heath, and Dave Foster

Mary had a compassion for taking care of animals. In her memory, memorial contributions can be made to a local animal shelter of your choice.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington Street in Crawfordsville on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 10:00 am until the time of memorial service at 12:00 pm.
