Mary Lou Jones

Mrs. Mary Lou Jones, age 90, of Waynetown, IN. peacefully passed away at Franciscan Health East, Lafayette, IN. on Monday afternoon June 29th.

Mary was born January 22, 1930 at "20 mile stand" in Warren County, Ohio to Zella Mae Snider and was raised by her grandparents Edith and Elmer Snider at Morrow, Ohio. She attended school in Warren County Ohio before she moved to Indiana. Mary married Ralph Jones on March 24, 1951 and he passed away in March of 1999. During her working years Mary had been employed by R.R. Donnelley & son, Mid States Wire and High Tech Lighting were she retired as an Electrical Supervisor. Mary had formerly been active in the Maple Grove Home Ec. Club and loved to quilt and crochet. She was know to bake birthday cakes for her friends and enjoyed reading and playing euchre and was devoted to her dog Bosco and would care for any stray animal that stopped by her house.

Mary is survived by her step-father, William Prewitt Sr., her brother William Prewitt Jr. (wife Wanda) all of Middletown, Ohio. Sisters Dixie Owens, Pauline (husband Terry) White and Diane (husband Doug) Schneider all of Hamilton, Ohio and Jenny (husband Mike) Watson of Corbin KY. She also will be missed by her special cousin Don (wife Lolita) Snider of Portland, TN and her namesake niece Mary Lou (husband Jeff ) Walston of Hamilton, Ohio. Mary has many many nieces and nephews and special local friends who were members of the Wednesday Chinese Buffet Lunch Bunch. Mary was preceded in death by her Mother and two brothers, Harry Scudder Jr and Lucellus "Bud" Scudder.

Funeral services for Mary will be held at 2:00pm Monday July 6th at Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Bratton Rd., Waynetown, In. and officiated by Pastor Rick Kerr. Visitation will be from 12 noon that day until the services. Burial will follow in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to " Home for Friendless Animals, P.O. Box 217, Waynetown, IN. 47990.  Social distancing is expected and face masks are encouraged. We will have seating for 42 individuals in the funeral home chapel.
