Mrs. Mary Louise Priebe, 90, died at 12:51:00 AM, on October 21, 2010 at Lane House Nursing Home, Crawfordsville, IN. Mrs. Priebe was born May 21, 1920 in Indianapolis, IN to Artie Lee and Lois Margery (Newhouse) Smith. She married Dr. Fred H. Priebe, Nov. 20, 1941. She was a retired teacher having taught high school in Topeka, IN & Centerville, OH. She then taught elementary school for 26 yrs at New Market & 15 yrs. at Pittsboro. After retirement she taught for 10 yrs. at the First Christian Church Pre-School.

She was a 1937 graduate of New Market High School and received her BA from Central Normal Teachers College in Danville, IN. She was a member of the Montgomery County Retired Teachers Association, Montgomery County Historical Society, Montgomery County Art League, New Market Womens Club, and the Alpha Delta Kappa Teaching Sorority. She also volunteered at the All Souls Hospice, The Crawfordsville/Montgomery County Visitors Center, and was a Pink Lady at Culver Hospital and Hendricks County Hospital.

She leaves behind 1 daughter: Becky(Phil)Thompson, Crawfordsville; Three sons: Kent Priebe, Crawfordsville; Stan (Jeanie) Priebe, Indianapolis; Steve (Betty) Priebe, Ocala, FL;

grandchidren: Misha Thomas, Angie Loranger, Jessica Couch, Kinsey Priebe-O'Connell, Greg Priebe, Jeremy Priebe and Cole Priebe; She also leaves behind ten great grandchildren.

She is preceeded by her husband in 1969; 1 brother: Richard Smith; 1 grandson: Clay Priebe; and her parents A Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 25, at 11:00 AM at Powers-Priebe FuneralHome, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, with Harold Keck officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 24, from 4 to 7 PM at Powers-Priebe FuneralHome.
