Melvin Robert "Bob" Bushue, age 73 of Kingman passed away on March 20, 2026 at home surrounded by his children. Bob was born in Champaign-Urbana, IL on September 18, 1952 to Arlin Joseph & Barbara Allen (Summers) Bushue.
Bob was a 1970 Covington High School graduate, an Austin Peay State University graduate, and spent his life in career military service. He began with a brief tour in the Air Force and completed the majority of his service in the Army. On December 19, 1976 he married the love of his life, Linda (Woolwine). After many years of living where the Army sent them, Bob and Linda settled back home in Kingman, Indiana to finish raising their children and operate the Sycamore Valley Campground. Bob was a member of the Sterling Christian Church in Veedersburg, Indiana.
He is survived by his children: Chad (Kameron) Bushue of Texas, Cheryl (Joseph) Behlmann of Missouri, and Brian Bushue of Kingman; his siblings, William (Donna) Bushue, John (Theresa) Bushue, James (Cindy) Bushue, Wayne Bushue, Mark (Dawn) Bushue, Paul (Carman) Bushue, and Rose Bushue; and four grandchildren, Grace, Frankie, and Gunner Russell, and Hannah Bushue. He was preceded in death by his wife Linda, and his parents Arlin and Barbara Bushue
Bob and Linda were blessed with a lifelong friendship with Dwight and Sue Poteet of Georgia, whose presence was a constant source of companionship and strength throughout their entire adult life. That bond extended to their son Chris, who was like a brother to Brian and Cheryl.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street in Kingman from 2:00pm - 4:00pm on Sunday, March 29, 2026 with the funeral service at 4:00 pm with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating and military honors by the United States Army.
