Michael Curtis Spragg, age 85 of Waynetown, passed away on January 30, 2026 at home. He was born on April 8, 1940 to the late Paul Curtis and Beulah Frances (Hutts) Spragg at home in Fountain County. Mike married Joann Branson on June 2, 1959 in Crawfordsville.
He was a graduate of Wallace High School, Class of 1958. In his younger years, he worked on the family farm. Mike proudly served in the United States Army, serving stateside, working on several missile bases. After his military service, Mike worked in maintenance at Fleetwood Trailers, Coast to Coast, Golden Books and retired from Random House in 2004. He was a member of the former Phanuel Lutheran Church in Wallace.
Mike was also a longtime member of the Model A Ford Club, owning and restoring three different Model As in his life. He was also a collector of vintage car and gas station memorabilia, signs, license plates and gas pumps from years past, which filled his garage where he worked in his spare time. Mike loved all animals from a young age, caring for any pet or wildlife that would allow him.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Joann Spragg; a son, Jeffrey Spragg; and a granddaughter, Alexandria Spragg. He will also be missed by cousins and extended family.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 10am at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, in memory of Mike's love of animals, please consider donating to your local animal shelter, or the charity of your choice.
