Paul L. Heaton, 63, formerly of Crawfordsville, passed away on September 29, at his current home in Loveland, OH, after a long battle with cancer. He was born November 26, 1946, in Willits, CA to Walter D. and Jeanann (White) Heaton. He married Linda A. Heaton 39 years ago. She survives.

Paul joined the Navy in 1966 and retired on January 31st, 1986 as a Senior Chief. He then moved to Lafayette, IN. He began working for the US Postal Service in Crawfordsville in 1988 eventually moving there in 1996. He retired from the Post Office on February 28, 2009.

While in Crawfordsville, he became an active member of the New Market Christian Church, where he served as an Elder, Deacon, and Director of Building and Grounds. He was an avid bowler, who loved fishing, golf, yard work, and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his Mother; 2 sons: Jeffrey P. (Dawn) Heaton, D. David (Christina) Ross; daughter: Suzanne D. (Dee) Dix. He is also survived by brother: Tome (Brenda) Heaton; 2 sisters: Gay (Wayne) Robertson and Sandy Ward. He was also a devoted grandfather to: Jordan and Cody Dix; Kyle, Kelsey, and Blake Heaton; Brody Ross.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandson, Devin D. Ross.

Visitation to be held at New Market Christian Church, 302 S. Third St. on Sunday, October 3rd, 2010, from 3:00pm - 7:00pm.

Funeral service to be held at New Market Christian Church, on Monday, October 4th at 10:00am., with Rev. George Dosher, officiating. Entombment will be at the Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, Lafayette, IN where military rites will be conducted.
