Rachel Leona Porter Boone passed away peacefully on August 23rd, 2010 at 4:05 AM at the Bickford Cottage. She was born April 6, 1918 in Montgomery County to Howard and Eva Lena (Botteroff) Heath. She married Donald Edison Porter March 5, 1938 in Crawfordsville. He preceeded her in death on August 5, 1970. She later married George M. Boone on March 21, 1975. He died August 9, 1986.

She was a 1936 graduate of Waynetown High School; she had been a waitress at the Turkey Run Inn until her first marriage; she farmed with her first husband in Fountain, Boone, and Hendricks Counties; she was a member of the Darlington United Methodist Church, Sisters of Circle IV, Sugar Creek Townshiip precinct committee chairman, Women of Montgomery County Farm Bureau, Montgomery County Diabetic Association, Share Foods of Montgomery County, Darlington Anonymous Club, Mother's Night Out Home Economics Club, Mission MInded Merry Martrons (4M's) of the Linden Methodist Church, Sugar Creek Campers Club, and the Darlington Conservation Club. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, sewing, and needlecraft.

She is survived by two daughters: Virginia Lee Rose (husband Harold), Dover, IN, Donna Sue Lytle, Lake Holiday, IN.; Grandchildren, Allisen Bateman, Crawfordsville; Stuart Rose, Chesney, KS; Jill Smith, Schoolcraft, MI; Julie Hofmann, Appleton,WS; Gena Brown, Lafayette; L. Wade Bennett, Linden. Also 4 great granddaughters and 5 great grandsons.

In addition to her husbands she was preceeded in death by her parents; daughter, Margery Ellen; brothers, Russell Heath and John Heath.

Visitation to be held at Powers Priebe Funeral Home, on August 26th, 2010, at 4:00pm - 8:00pm.

Service to be held at Powers Priebe Funeral Home, on August 27th at 10:30am.
