Roberta May Whittington

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Roberta May Whittington, who left us on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on July 22, 1937, in Danville, Illinois, to the late Robert Dale and Livona May (Grubbs) Wann; Roberta lived a life filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of family.

A proud graduate of Kingman High School, Roberta embraced her role as a loving mother and devoted homemaker. On May 20, 1957, she married Gerald F. Whittington, who preceded her in death on May 8, 2018. Together, they created a home where love flourished, and fond memories were made.

Roberta's career journey included positions as a housekeeper and a clerk, where she spent many years contributing to the local community at Kingman Hardware and Kingman Liquor Store. Her vivacious spirit was matched only by her passion for cooking, a skill that brought joy to those she loved. Roberta cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, pouring her heart into raising them and making sure they knew they were her everything.

She is survived by her two children, Wayne (Patty) Whittington and Jeri (Randy Norman) Whittington; four grandchildren, Uriah, Krystal, Justin (Trish Harper), and Nic; and many great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald Whittington; a son, Robert Dale Whittington; two brothers, Sheldon Wann and Max Wann; and a sister, Shirley Bartlow.

Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 5:00pm till the time of the service at 6:00pm with Pastor Tim Lyons officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Roberta and Gerald will be buried together at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
