Ronald Leland "Crocodile & Shooter" DeMoss Sr, age 83 of Attica passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. He was born in Terre Haute on January 21, 1938 to the late Grover Lawrence & Emma Ester (Toulson) DeMoss.
Ron graduated from Wiley High School in Terre Haute and proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1956 - 1958. On October 17, 1959 Ron married Barbara Loges, who preceded him in death on November 20, 1995. He then married Carolyn Ellis on January 27, 2001.
Ron attended Purdue University and was a member of Cayuga American Legion and The Knights of Columbus. Ron enjoyed success in several entrepreneurial endeavors over the years, including one as an Insurance Sales Manager for Combined Insurance Co. and Old Heritage Insurance Co., opening the Landmark Inn as well as a tree removal company. He also worked for Sugarcreek Saw Mill and as security agent at Masterguard to name a few.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; children Diana Noble (William); Julia Maggard (Gary); Ronald DeMoss, Jr. (Susan); Scott DeMoss (Kimberly); John DeMoss (Cathy); Lori Galyen (Steve); Cheryl Cruse (Steve); 33 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Barbara; three brothers: Louis, Melvin (infant), and Russell DeMoss; and an infant grandson, Thomas DeMoss.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street in Kingman on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm with a Rosary Service at 3:45pm. A funeral mass will be on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 10:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 308 Pearl St, in Covington. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery outside Covington with military rites by the United States Navy.
