Ron called Crawfordsville home his entire life graduating from Crawfordsville High School in 1959. During high school, Ron also began working at Kroger where he continued on for a loyal, 46 years never missing a single day! He started off as sack boy and worked up to and including full-time stock crew, head grocery clerk, and night cashier. He retired in 2003. If you were fortunate enough to know Ron, you knew him as a kind, warm, sometimes quiet, sometimes chatty, always thinking, generous gentleman. Never an unkind word was heard when those who knew Ron described him.

Ron was an avid car enthusiast whose pride and joy was his 1946 Ford Coupe. He cheered on the Cubs and the Colts whenever he had the chance or when he wasn't cheering on his grandson, Dakota, playing baseball. He was a NRA member as well as a member of the Crawfordsville Gun Club and the Ben Hur Antique Car Club.
