Shirley A. Faubion, age 81 or Waynetown, went home to her Lord on Tuesday evening February 11, 2020 after an extended illness. Shirley was born on September 2, 1938 at Crawfordsville, IN the daughter of Marion "Mac" and Edith (nee Marlow) Dehne and grew up on the family farm outside of Waynetown.
She was a graduate of Waynetown High School and had 2 years of training at an art school. Shirley was a true entreprenuar and had owned a gift shop in Chicago, IL. called "Something Different" and built the restaurant "A Country Affair" outside of Waynetown and was a proud owner of a farm. She was well known for her gardening, photography and paintings and she was always laughing. Shirley was a member of the Waynetown Baptist church. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Hector Monroy, son Royal Mark Faubion and daughter Kathryn Faubion all of Waynetown; daughter Laura Faubion of New Richmond and daughter Sarah (husband Jim) Hayes of Crawfordsville, IN. She is also survived by her brothers Steve Dehne of Carmel, IN and Dick Dehne of Waynetown, IN. Her Grandchildren include Graham Faubion, Andrew Thomas, Luke and James Hayes. Great Grandchildren are Lydia Faubion, Emery, Adalyn and Amelia Hayes. She was preceded in death by her brother Bradley Dehne, sister Wanda Utterback, and grandsons Wesley Greene and Willie Hayes.
Funeral services for Shirley will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday February 15th at Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Bratton rd. Waynetown, IN. and officiated by Pastor Ron Raffignone followed by burial in Meharry Cemetery, Wingate, IN. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
