Thomas "Tom" Lee Frechette, age 74 of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026. He was born in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan on May 21, 1951 to the late Willard & Laura (Beseau) Frechette.
Tom graduated from Cedar Springs High School in Michigan and received his associated degree in design engineering from IUPUI. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Throughout the years he worked many places as a design engineer and cad designer. His passion for design and engineering was evident in every project he undertook, earning him the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
He was a caretaker for Mallory Conservation Club in Mooresville for many years, where he nurtured the environment and shared his love for nature with those around him. A man of many interests, Tom cherished singing karaoke, fishing in the peaceful lakes, and taking care of his yard. He was always the life of the party, with a great social life, a ton of friends, and an infectious laugh. A big supporter of his local sports teams, he could often be found cheering for the Colts, Pacers, and Indiana University, sharing his enthusiasm with anyone who would listen. He was a member of the Greenfield American Legion and lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and generous spirit.
He is survived by his three sons, Matt (Katie) Frechette of Noblesville, Nick Frechette of Indianapolis and Adam Frechette of Pendleton; the mother of his children, Debbie Cockrell of Pendleton; a brother, Marc Frechette of Michigan; a sister, Jan (Clare) Patterson of Wisconsin, seven grandchildren, Isaac Frechette, Annie (Jay) Quintero, Ava Frechette, Mia Frechette, Julia Frechette, Connor Frechette, and Jon Frechette; three great grandchildren, Leilana Sol Quintero, Wesley Frechette, and Luciano Jay Quintero; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a twin-sister, Bonnie Jo King and three other sisters, Sandra Jinkins, Darla Veneklase, and Alison Duran; and three brothers, Terry, Mace, and Daryl Frechette.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 1:00pm till the time of the funeral service at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Kingman Fraternal Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the ALS Association at www.ALS.org in Tom's memory.
