Velma Louise (Surface) Ingersoll

Velma Louise Ingersoll, 96, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother was called to Heaven on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. She was born on July 11, 1926 to Floyd and Murrell Surface. She married Robert H. Ingersoll in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 21, 1950. Robert died in 1980.

Velma was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She was a proud "farmer's daughter" and loved talking about growing up on the farm, planting flowers, and watching sports on TV.

She is survived by her four children -Robert Ingersoll Jr., William Ingersoll, David Ingersoll, and Janet (John) Kresser , her 4 grandchildren - Heather (Corey) Shaffer, Robert J. (Courtnee) Ingersoll, Melissa Ingersoll, and Ashley (Bryon) Berardi, and her 10 great-grandchildren - Ally, Andrew, Ava, Kamryn, Nicholas, Autumn, Trinity, Natalie, Austin, and Elliana. She is also survived by her youngest brother, Norman (Carolyn) Surface.

Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Ingersoll, granddaughter, Angela Marie Ingersoll, and siblings - Willis Surface, Floyd Surface Jr. and Mildred Eyler.

A private family memorial service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022.  Burial will be at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.  Share memories and condolences online at www.sandersfuneralcare.com
