Mrs. W. Phyllis Arthur, 88, Crawfordsville, passed away at 10:06 AM in her home on Friday. She was born July 16, 1923, in North Platte, Nebraska, to Earl ad Mae(Culver) Wilson. She married Richard E. Arthur on November 2, 1942 in Crawfordsville. He preceded her in death in 2005.
Mrs. Arthur was a homemaker. She graduated from North Platte, Nebraska, High School. Her memberships included: Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church, Crawfordsville, where she had given her time doing crafts and making noodles for their bazaar; Anna Harter Walter Association; Mothers of Twins Club. She also enjoyed golfing, softball, and watching her grand kid's sporting activities.
She is survived by her children: Robert E. (Rita J.) Arthur, Crawfordsville; Jan (Mark) Evans, Crawfordsville; and Judy (Craig) Boehms, Newbern, Tennessee. Also surviving is her brother; Stan Wilson, Denver, Colorado; her sister, Delores (Raymond) George, Grand Island, Nebraska; her brother-in-law, Colonel Roy A. Jaynes, Alexandria, Virginia; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard E. Arthur; brothers, Tat, Bob, Quigg, and Donald Wilson; sisters, Ardythe Jaynes, Georgiana Calhoun, and Pauline Wilson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 30, at 11:00 AM, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, with Dr. John VanNuys, officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill North Cemetery, Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 29, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
