Sue (Jones) Hager, age 81, of Kingman, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Franciscan Health Lafayette. She was born in Clinton on December 30, 1944 to the late Harry R. and Zoma M. (Goff) Jones.
She graduated from Turkey Run High School in 1962. She married the love of her life, Donald C. Hager, in Rockville, Indiana. Together, they built a beautiful life until Don's passing on August 20, 2013. Sue's strength and resilience shone through in the years that followed.
She spent 27 years working at General Electric and later enjoyed 16 years at Steel Grip as a seamstress. A lifelong learner, Sue returned to Danville Area Community College to pursue her passion for horticulture, receiving her associate's degree and truly nurturing her love for flowers, gardening, and the beauty of nature.
Sue's heart was always in her greenhouse, where she helped operate D&S Greenhouse, sharing her love for blooms with the community she cherished. Family was paramount to Sue; she adored her daughters, valued her son-in-law's, and took immense pride in her grandchildren. Whether cheering them on at their sporting events or sharing stories over a meal, her family brought her joy and purpose. Her beloved dog, Shorty, was always by her side, providing companionship and love.
Sue is survived by her children, Sue Ann (Robert) Davis and Dawn Ann (Tim) DePugh; sister, Janet Lee; four grandsons, Nate, Nash, Robby (Hannah), and Corey (fiancé - Taylor); and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Don.
